MINIMAL. MINDFUL. WELLNESS.

Hello everyone, I am not sure where to start... To say 2020 has thrown us all some obstacles would certainly be an understatement!

I am sending all the love & light I can, to you all. I hope you are keeping well, healthy and safe at home. My huge appreciation goes out to all the key workers out there, keeping our families fed, and well cared for. I cannot express my appreciation for the NHS.

I would like to thank you all for your lovely messages, and genuine concern for Little Joy. As an independent designer, maker, it is for sure my biggest challenge so far in my creative journey keeping things going and staying motivated and calm. My little family and I would like to thank you for your continued support & well wishes, these kind words have really helped my mental wellness & strength in pushing through and not giving up. I have been doing my very best to maintain a creative flow around my family life. It’s now my pleasure to share with you, some exciting news that’s been keeping me focused & I hope it will bring you a little joy!

I have recently connected with the inspirational, Make-up artist, Hair-stylist & Writer, Camilla Hewitt. You may have caught up on our recent collaboration in a shoot with Country & Town House. Camilla is due to launch a new online wellness venture & I am hugely grateful to collaborate with her, designing & making a new collection of jewellery that incorporates healing crystals.
I have been busy researching into crystals from their properties as wearable elements alongside their energies when worn. The collection is focused on the organic crystals leading the designs, combining the Little Joy aesthetic harmoniously to keep you all engaged.

For thousands of years, people have used crystals to attract certain energies as healing tools, to direct and amplify intentions. As our lives become increasingly intertwined with the digital world, there is a growing desire, to reconnect with the natural world. By working organic crystals, into a contemporary jewellery collection, our designs allow the wearer to enjoy their natural beauty, whilst carrying the energy of the stone with them throughout the day.

I would like to share with you the beginnings of this well-curated collection, with the Pink Tourmaline Collective. This Watermelon Tourmaline soothes the heart and calms emotions.

Each piece is unique due to the properties of the natural handcut slices however I have carefully selected pieces that sit within close carat weight & size so they all wear aesthetically the same. These pieces are available to pre-order now, if you would like more information please contact Little Joy here.

I hope you enjoy the new designs, and as normal, feedback is much appreciated at this early stage of the process …. I want to maintain excellence in the journey of this new collection and with viewers and wearers critique this all strengthens the work I produce for you.

Thank you as ever for taking the time to read, I shall share more very soon !!!

STUDIO LIFE

This month has flown by in the studio, I have been so busy talking to new clients about bespoke commissions alongside designing some NEW Little Joy designs!

We have also welcomed new makers work to the studio, “Sjaelv” handcrafted bags, which are handcrafted in Germany by the exceptionally talented, Johanna. After her recent success in the Shop Small Pop Up Shop campaign, I thought best I invite her work, to be on permanent availability here at the Little Joy studio + showroom! Her works now sit alongside a selection of “Roake” Lizzy, brass Hairpins & a selection of beautiful wooden handcrafted products by Thorn & Anchor.

I have been busy this month selecting precious stones from Responsible suppliers in South Africa & Australia. I have carefully selected a range of beautiful diamonds in various cuts & colours for a new body of work I have been concentrating on, suitable for everyday wear alongside some extra special pieces for those bespoke jewellery pieces you have been enquiring about! Due to the nature of the precious stones I have selected, a variety of the designs I shall be making are completely one-off designs, so keep your eyes peeled for updates on new products!

If you should have any special requests or enquires for bespoke designs please get in touch with me as soon as possible. It’s a great time of year for me to select unique stones, and I am so excited with the suppliers, I am currently working with who seem to be able to locate my exact requirements promptly, however times precious as they travel from distant locations so it’s important I source as many precious stones as I can to be prepared for your bespoke desires!

I can’t wait to share with you some new designs! For day to day updates in the studio, please follow me on Instagram @littlejoyjeweller

CHAMPAGNE & DIAMONDS

Here at Little Joy, I am in the middle of my busiest wedding season to date! As I approach my 8th anniversary of Business, I have spent time this week reflecting on some of my wonderful experiences & the achievements I have made alongside growing two humans in my belly it’s no wonder I feel so tired but it’s been so worth it! I took the time to look through my portfolio, to see a visual improvement in practice and recognising the style that’s grown organically as I have developed.

I would like to introduce you to two rings I am really passionate about this season that has proved most popular. Each piece I design is made to fit the last so you can pretty much buy any piece of little joy and it shall compliment another in my collection. I wanted to develop a wedding ring set that was equally beautiful worn alone or as a composition. The PEAR ring is available in Yellow, White, Rose Gold & Platinum. All 9ct & 18ct Golds are Fairtrade Gold.

The PEAR cut diamond is a beautiful cut alternative to a round cut diamond, this piece sits beautifully alone or apart of a set. Perfect for an engagement ring or that extra special gift. 1.5mm round gauge ring shank tapers toward stone to knife edge point 1.1mm
3 claw set Pear Diamond. SI1 E colour 50pt 0.50ct Pear Cut Diamond ~ Conflict Free Diamond * mined in Australia

The DIAMOND ARC Ring was designed as a wedding band but has also proved popular as a special treat ring for many who want a complimentary ring stacker. I designed the Arc to harmoniously sit with a multitude of universal rings. You can also choose from Champagne Rose cut diamonds or brilliant cut clear clarity diamonds. I have mixed diamonds in the photo attached and pushing these boundaries has opened many eyes. I have mixed diamond cut within a set of jewellery for years and although traditionally frowned upon as you can see the subtlety in the delicate shades compliment one another very well.

The Diamond Arc is the perfect composition with a round/pear cut stone sat within. * works well with our SUN engagement ring, DARLING Rose Cut Ring, or PEAR diamond Ring. Available:
Rose Cut Diamonds * as shown in the photograph

VS1 clarity colour E
Carat 0.11ct each
( approx 2.3mm ) or Brilliant Cut Diamonds

The ring is 1.5mm round gauge. 5 x 2.3mm Rub Over set stones, 0.11ct each.

I feel at this point of my journey with Little Joy the design ideas are in full flow! The possibilities are endless and I am totally dedicated to my practice more now than ever. I am so excited to share with you more wedding rings designs I am working upon alongside my bespoke commissions. I aim to add a bespoke portfolio to my website to give clients more insight into my daily making challenges! For now, remember you can follow me on a daily basis upon Instagram @littlejoyjeweller.
Thank you all for your ongoing support & many congratulations to my couples, your trust in me is so humbling and each and every order is a complete honour. Lauren – Design / Maker / Goldsmith

Producing bespoke wedding jewellery from rings to unique gifts is such a privilege as a designer and maker. Our new collection, KIN is a harmonious addition to our Little Joy range. Inspired by a combination of previous designs and encouraging new ways to relate the pieces to the body. The KINDRED necklace can be worn front and back of the body & can be customised with addition of diamonds or engraving. Perfect for a special backless wedding dress and then an ongoing wearable piece of jewellery that can be worn on the front for alternative occasions.

DIAMOND REED earrings are our luxury addition to our precious minimals range. Diamonds are set flush in each side of the earrings giving understated sparkle to one of our best seeking earring designs. Each element of our KIN range is made to order. Designed with weddings in mind, however these timeless designs  are versatile and can be worn from wedding day to beyond.
